The following conditions apply to all grant applications:
- Persons 18 years and over are not eligible for assistance under Variety’s Charter.
- Variety NT does not give cash donations – only the purchase of equipment and tangible items.
- Applications will not be considered for retrospective funding.
- Variety NT does not generally fund research, rehabilitation services, vehicle purchases, medical, therapeutic or service provider costs, or salaries and administration costs.
- As a general rule, there is a limit of one Grant per recipient per year, except in special circumstances.
- Variety NT will not approve Grant applications where alternative funding sources are available.
- In some instances, Variety will provide part funding. For example Variety NT would be a part contributor towards the requested items, conditional upon receipt of funding through other sources such as a grant from another organisation or fundraising by the applicant.
Sunshine Coaches
For successful Sunshine Coach applications, grant funding will be conditional upon the following:
- The Sunshine Coach will not be sold, transferred, disposed of or generally made available to anybody whatsoever without the express written consent of Variety the Children’s Charity NT.
- The vehicle will be returned to Variety when it is no longer required by the applicant organisation or whenever Variety may so demand. Variety has an option to repurchase the vehicle for $1 at any time it considers appropriate.
- Each successful applicant agrees to provide an annual report on the number of kilometres driven and children assisted, along with photographs of the vehicle and children.
- It is the responsibility of the applicant to pay for all registration costs, including insurance, Stamp Duty and to comprehensively insure the vehicle.
- The purchase must be finalised within three months of the date of the grant approval. In the event that it is not finalised within 3 months, the appeal will be withdrawn without further notice to the applicant and another application form will need to be submitted for approval.
- Sunshine Coach vehicles are built to the manufacturer’s specifications as passenger carrying vehicles.
- The successful applicant will ensure that the specified Variety artwork is kept on the coach at all times.
Please note that Variety cannot guarantee to replace a coach at the end of its life. The applicant organisation should endeavour to set up a fundraising scheme to maintain the cost of a replacement vehicle.
